that Wolves were braced for an offer for the Portuguese. It was noted in that report that Neves had indicated to teammates that he was open to moving to the Emirates.

The major stumbling block may therefore, be the fee involved in a move.

According to the Mail, Neves is valued at £34 million. However, they also noted that Wolves would like a figure of around the £41 million they received for Diogo Jota.

It remains to be seen what Edu has to work with in this window. But given the events of the last year, it would be a surprise if many clubs were breaking their transfer records in the coming months.

Arsenal may therefore, be open to boxing clever to try and get their targets through the door.

Recent reports suggested that talks had taken place between the Gunners and Juventus over a potential swap involving Hector Bellerin and Aaron Ramsey.

So perhaps they may also be open to holding similar talks with Wolves in their pursuit of Neves.

Based on previous reports, they may have the ideal player to offer.

Could Ainsley Maitland-Niles help Arsenal sign Ruben Neves?

that Ainsley Maitland-Niles is planning to leave Arsenal this summer.

The 23-year-old spent the second-half of this season on loan at West Brom. But in truth, he arguably did not manage to prove a huge point to Mikel Arteta.

He remains a promising young player. But if he is keen to leave rather than provide cover as a full-back, Arsenal should grant him his wish.

that Wolves were expected to show interest this summer. Of course, it was Wolves Maitland-Niles last year.

Obviously, Nuno Espirito Santo has since left Molineux. But that may not necessarily mean the club change their transfer policy.

Therefore, they may perhaps be open to a swap involving Neves and Maitland-Niles.

The two sides would still need to reach an agreement over a fee. But with both players’ futures uncertain, it surely makes sense for all parties.
