Arsenal linked with move for Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic

Arsenal are linked with Real Madrid’s Jovic ().

The Serbian striker has had a horrible time at Real Madrid and is now being linked with a move away.

Luka Jovic was electric in the Bundesliga.

For Eintracht Frankfurt he scored 40 goals in 3 games, yet for Madrid he has just 2 in 35 ().

Now, though, he’s been linked with a move to The Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have scored just two goals in five Premier League games so far.

A new striker would shake things up for the Gunners and Jovic fits the bill.

He’s only 23-years-old and despite an early career blip at Real Madrid he has plenty of potential.

Fortunately for Arsenal, there’s no way he’ll cost them anywhere near what Real Madrid paid for him.

Los Blancos paid a ridiculous £52.4m for the Serbian and agreed to pay him just shy of £44m-per-year on a six year deal ().

Arsenal will likely be able to get him on a cut-price deal and be able to offer him much lower wages than his current ones.

Jovic has barely featured for Madrid this season.

After failing to impress Zinedine Zidane at Madrid, he’s been unable to change his fortunes under Carlo Ancelotti.

Across three La Liga appearances this season he’s only amassed 21 minutes ().

His only goal of the season so far has come in international competition, as Serbia beat Qatar 4-0 in a friendly and Jovic got one for himself.

Hopefully, though, he can seal a move to The Emirates and start scoring more frequently.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang only has one league goal this season and Alexandre Lacazette has only made one league appearance so far.

The Frenchman is out of contract in the summer too.

His exit would open the door for Jovic to come in and play alongside Aubameyang.

Under Mikel Arteta, that could be a partnership that takes off in the Premier League.
