Report: ‘Special’ £33.5m player Arsenal reportedly want is now out for the season
Arsenal might have to look elsewhere when it comes to at least one of their summer targets, with Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard now out for the season thanks to more surgery.
had reported recently how Arsenal were looking into signing Hazard this summer. The Belgian has had a torrid time in Spain ever since completing a mega-money move from Chelsea. Injuries and fitness issues have ravaged his time at the club, and a move away could now happen.
However, any potential summer switch might have to be completely put on hold for Hazard now. Madrid have Hazard will undergo surgery to remove a plate in his fibula.
It is yet another blow in what is an ever-growing list of blows for Hazard in Madrid. Despite being signed as one of the world’s best at the time, his appearances have been hindered massively since arriving.
It’s been previously that Arsenal would have been willing to pay around £33.5m for Hazard. However, with yet more injury problems here, that fee could yet dip further.
TBR’s View: Hazard Is A No-Go For Arsenal
The notion of Arsenal going for Eden Hazard was always a bizarre one anyway. And now with yet another injury added to the list, you’d have to say this should almost certainly end any Gunners interest.
Arsenal have been signing younger up and coming players in recent times. So for them to even consider Hazard, he’d need to be producing the goods and fully fit. As it is, he is injured yet again and nowhere near the player he was.
The Gunners, then, simply need to stay clear here.
