TBR View: Inspiration for Tierney could fuel Arsenal move for Doig

Doig’s rise from a Hearts reject to one of the most exciting prospects on Scottish football is a story that tugs at the heartstrings of any supporters of the game, and his recent comments on how much Tierney inspired him could put Arsenal in the driver’s seat for the teenager’s signature.

Indeed, the Gunners are in desperate need of a backup left-back, with Tierney the only natural player in that position in the first-team, and although Doig could be seen as an inexperience second-choice option for the position, the 18-year-old has proved this season he has the potential to one day flourish into a top defender if given the platform to flourish and succeed.
