Standing a mighty 6ft 6in, Weghorst is the archetypal target man, a tall striker with great aerial ability who is able to hold up the ball superbly, not to mention his poacher’s instinct and eye for goal which has helped him rack up such impressive scoring figures in the past few seasons.

Given the uncertain futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could well be looking at other options, and a fearsome, prolific and ambitious sharpshooter like Weghorst would certainly bring more firepower to the Gunners.
