TBR View: Arsenal link idolises Yaya Toure and fans should be ecstatic

Arsenal have reportedly been linked with Amadou Diawara. According to , the club can land him for just £10 million this summer. Now, with Thomas Partey injured, the club have to pounce for a bargain deal.

Diawara has been on the radar of Arsenal for some time. The 24-year-old is one of Roma’s top players and has suitors all over Europe. Jose Mourinho is under no illusion that he will have to offload some of his squad this summer.

The Guinean performer could be one of Roma’s most lucrative assets. With that in mind, offloading him before the transfer window does seem likely.

Football London previously claimed that Edu is a big fan of Diawara. He has originally been identified as a potential signing before Thomas Partey was added.

The Ghanaian was injured on Sunday as the Gunners faced Chelsea. Furthermore, he’s set to miss out on Arsenal’s games prior to the first international break.

Granit Xhaka looks like staying at the club, but long-term doubts remain over Mohamed Elneny. Many believe there are better players out there who could do performer a more integral role in the team.

Diawara fits that bill. He is only 24 and has 123 appearances in Serie A for Napoli, Roma and Bologna to his name.

Arsenal fans should welcome Diawara

The man with 12 caps for his country would be an ideal addition to the Arsenal ranks. The player is a massive upgrade on Elneny and isn’t too dissimilar to Yves Bissouma who Arsenal have courted.

Diawara has an influential role model too. Following his arrival at Roma in 2019, he told “My boyhood idol is Yaya Toure. I would love to be like him, he’s phenomenal. I’m young and have to work hard to go to that level.”

Looking at the whole package, Diawara is a player who could seriously excite the Arsenal fan base.

He is strong, uses the ball well and ultimately, he’d provide the team with an upgrade on players currently tasked with playing in central midfield.

At £10 million he’s a steal and Arsenal would be wise to seize the initiative and tie down a very promising player.
