Arsenal legend David Seaman takes a swipe at Laurent Koscielny

He may now be long gone, but Laurent Koscielny’s exit from Arsenal is still being felt.

The defender got his wish this summer and completed a move back to France with Bordeaux, for a fee reported to be worth £4.6 million ().

It came after the 33-year-old refused to travel on the Gunners’ pre-season tour of the US.

His actions came as a major shock to fans, who had adored the star for almost ten years.

Koscielny has been slated further for his – the French club had him pose in an Arsenal shirt before taking it off to reveal his new colours.

Following Ian Wright and Lee Dixon’s leads, former goalkeeper David Seamen has now given his take on the situation – and he certainly hasn’t held back.

: “It left a really bad taste in the mouth. He should have more respect for the club.

“When I first heard about him not going on tour I was really disappointed. As club captain he should know better.

“And then the video, even if it was done by the club he went to, he should have more class than that. I thought it was a disgrace.”

TBR’s view

Seamen’s views will resonate with many Arsenal supporters who feel totally let down by Koscielny.

The 55-year-old rarely speaks negatively about his former club or their players, so his assessment is really quite damning.

What’s done is done now, and Arsenal will be hoping to see some leadership qualities from Koscielny’s replacement David Luiz, who sealed a sensational deadline day move to the Emirates Stadium for a reported £8 million ().
