Arsenal keeping close eye on £8m Barcelona player with big potential
Arsenal are now said to be keeping tabs on a Barcelona player who is still thought to have a lot of unfulfilled potential.
Although Mikel Arteta and his staff will be focused on each and every crucial game right now as we approach the ‘business end’ of the season, there must be an eye on the summer.

Arsenal were incredibly well prepared to execute deals for Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber last year, and fans may expect something similar thus.
And as well as improving their first team squad, it is increasingly felt as if Arsenal will attempt to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City to sign Europe’s best youngsters.
The Hale End academy has a rich history of developing world class players, but the path between the academy and first team has lessened of late.
Perhaps the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly will change that in the near future, but there has been a significant lull since Bukayo Saka emerged in the first team some years ago.
And with that in mind, it seems Arsenal may actually be keen to buy a 19-year-old who looks ready to make his first team step.
Arsenal very interested in signing 19-year-old Barcelona player Mikayil Faye
Barcelona signed Senegal youth international Mikayil Faye from Croatian side NK Kustosija last summer, and according to , his future is now far from certain.
Faye, who has regularly impressed for Barcelona’s youth side under famous name Rafael Marquez, is now thought to be ready for first team football.

However, owing to the rich competition at the club, namely Pau Cubarsi, there may not be an obvious path for centre-back to progress.
And that’s where Arsenal come in.
The report states that Barcelona rejected an £8m bid from Lens in January, they wanted to keep the young star.
But with his first team chances looking no better ahead of the summer, Arsenal are now said to be keeping a close eye on the Barcelona player.
Perhaps Mikel Arteta considers that Faye could soon be ready for a squad role in North London, and it’ll be intriguing to see if a deal does materialise.
All that being said, Jamie Carragher has been praising a ‘superstar’ defender who would be ready for Arteta’s eleven immediately.
