Arsenal in last minute talks to offer three youngsters new contracts and keep them at the Emirates

Having shared the news that 22 players are set to depart the Emirates this summer, Arsenal are still working to keep three talented youngsters.

Despite all the success it has enjoyed, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal project hasn’t handed too many opportunities to young players.

Since he became manager in 2019, Arteta has overseen a huge transformation at the Emirates, which has resulted in a team who are good enough to win the league.

With Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team around, the Gunners haven’t realised that ambition just yet, but will hope to do so next season.

Of course, when competing with such great opposition, Arsenal have needed to be near on perfect, explaining why young Hale End talents haven’t often been promoted, not since 22-year-old Bukayo Saka burst onto the scene under Unai Emery.

Understandably, that has led to a few strong young profiles to seek a new project, players like Omari Hutchinson who joined Chelsea in 2022.

That being said, when sharing their today, Arsenal confirmed that they were still in negotiations with three players.

Arsenal still keen to keep Amario Cozier-Duberry, Karl Hein and Reuell Walters

Having wished good luck to the likes of Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares, Arsenal then wrote: “In addition, please note the following players’ contracts also expire on June 30.

“Discussions are ongoing and once matters are finalised between all parties, we will communicate in due course.”

The names of Amario Cozier-Duberry, Karl Hein and Reuell Walters were then listed, three familiar names with Arsenal fans.

Interestingly, Walters has already penned a goodbye message on his Instagram account, with Arsenal perhaps now attempting to inspire something of a u-turn.

Amario Cozier-Dubbery attracting interest from Newcastle

Cozier-Duberry, considered one of the brightest young talents at Hale End, would be a real loss for Arsenal on a free transfer.

Cozier-Duberry has recently been subject of interest from Newcastle United, testament to his rich talent.

And it would be a huge shame were the electric winger allowed to leave, a player who could someday be an understudy to Saka on the right wing.

And then there’s Hein, a 22-year-old goalkeeper who already has 29 caps for Estonia.

Hein is a very capable number three for Arsenal, but perhaps is someone who deserves to forge his senior club career.

In his case, Arsenal are perhaps hoping to sign the keeper to a new deal, precluding a loan spell away as a number one.

All that being said, a Premier League side are said to be readying a bid for another Hale End graduate in the coming weeks
