Report: Arsenal hold talks with agents of ‘special’ £30m player and they could now get him for nothing
Arsenal are planning for the future with their transfers and according to , have already held talks with the agents of Leicester City star, Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans has been on the radar of Arsenal for some time already and he is yet to sign fresh terms with Leicester. Due to that, it’s widely believed that the Belgian will move on this summer for around £30m. Tottenham are also said to be keen on Tielemans.
However, has reported how Arsenal have already held talks with Tielemans’ agents and that the Gunners might even wait until 2023 to get him for nothing. claims that Mikel Arteta sees Tielemans as being huge value for money, given the potential lack of fee and the quality the midfielder possesses.
Tielemans has been a standout performer for the Foxes in recent seasons. He helped them to the FA Cup, scoring a stunning Wembley winner to cement his legacy in the Midlands. However, he hasn’t agreed a new contract and there is growing concern at Leicester that he’ll go for nothing.
Arsenal, it seems, are ready and waiting to pounce on the midfielder.
TBR’s View: Arsenal Run A Risk By Leaving Tielemans Until 2023
This is all well and good for Arsenal if they can get some sort of agreement sorted in the first place. If they don’t, then they’re simply running the risk of missing out on a player who a lot of clubs will fancy.
Tielemans is a class act, of course. We all see it in how he is with the Foxes and he’s been instrumental for Leicester ever since they splashed the cash on him.
Arsenal do need that top class central midfield player you feel. And if they can get Tielemans, either this summer or next, then they’ve probably addressed a big problem.
