Arsenal have now made inroads into signing £100m player, they’re the favourites to get him
Arsenal are still said to be the favourites to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are fighting to win the Premier League and Champions League this season. Many felt a new striker in last month’s window would’ve boosted their chances, but Mikel Arteta decided against signing anyone. Toney, however, remains on his radar.

Arsenal have made inroads into signing Ivan Toney
Since it became clear that Arsenal were not going to sign anyone in January, all the links about Ivan Toney became very quiet.
It was claimed that people inside the Emirates started to downplay any interest in the England international and many felt Arsenal would look elsewhere.
However, Dean Jones has revealed in his report on that despite the above whispers coming out of the Emirates, the actual story is different.
The journalist has claimed that Arsenal have made ‘inroads’ into signing Toney recently, and they are still the absolute favourites to get him this summer.
Toney was valued by Brentford at £100 million last month (). It will be interesting to see if the Bees slash that asking price when he enters the final year of his contract in July.
Since returning from his ban, Toney has scored four goals in six Premier League games for Thomas Frank’s side.

Arsenal should not sign Ivan Toney
Ivan Toney was a very attractive option for Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The Englishman checked a lot of boxes for the Gunners. He’s a different type of player to what they have, is a proven goalscorer and also knows the Premier League well.
The biggest factor, however, was the fact that no other elite striker was available on the market for Arsenal or any other club last month.
In the summer, things will be very different, and we think Arsenal should target players who are younger, better and have a higher ceiling than Toney.
The likes of Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic would, in our opinion, be better options than the Brentford man.
