Arsenal have made move for 26-year-old player who’s already amazed Jose Mourinho
Arsenal have reportedly launched a bid to sign Getafe striker Borja Mayoral as Mikel Arteta bids to bolster his attacking options.
It’s no secret that the Gunners have been lacking in the final third of late, having suffered three defeats in their last four games.
Arteta’s men have netted just twice during this period and many have urged the club to look at signing a new striker.
While the likes of Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen have been linked, the duo may be out of reach for Arsenal during the January transfer window.
And claims they are now attempting to pull off a deal for in-form La Liga striker Borja Mayoral.

Arsenal make move for Mayoral
The outlet claims that Arsenal have launched a £22 million bid to sign the Getafe striker.
However, the La Liga outfit have already turned down Arsenal’s offer and are looking for a fee worth around £39 million.
It’s noted that the Gunners have been tracking Mayoral since November after a brilliant first-half of the season in Spain.
Mayoral has netted 14 times in 22 appearances for Getafe this term and is enjoying a decent spell after his permanent switch from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.
The 26-year-old has previously spent time of loan at AS Roma and played under former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho.

He bagged 18 goals in 56 appearances under Mourinho and the Portuguese boss has previously lauded him as a hard-working player.
“He was one of the few positives,” Mourinho of Mayoral after a Conference League game back in December 2021.
“His goal was beautiful, but I also liked the work he put in. I am not surprised, because he always works hard.”
The Spaniard is yet to reach his full potential after coming through the ranks at Madrid. But his recent upturn in form has clearly caught the attention of Arsenal.
Yet, it would be a surprise to see Arsenal match Getafe’s demands to land Mayoral this month.
While they are in desperate need of a goalscorer, it would surely make more sense for the Gunners to wait until the summer to land their top targets.
