Arsenal have ‘made a call’ to sign a striker who’s now valued at over £100m
Mikel Arteta is now making no attempt to hide the fact that Arsenal need to recruit a striker before the January transfer window ends.
Kai Havertz was exhausted at the end of Arsenal’s 1-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, 🌞a striker who is simp🐟ly playing too many minutes.
Havertz is often lamented for missing big chances, but there’s little recognition of just how much the German striker is doing for the club – an incredibly hard worker who will💃 not stop winning duels for 90 minutes.
Tha📖t being said, Arsenal need to find someone to help Havertz in the final months of the season given Gabrie🍒l Jesus’ long-term knee injury.
And whil🌊st names like Be🀅njamin Sesko or Evan Ferguson are most often linked with Arsenal right now, Fabrizio Romano has just shared news of a surprising enquiry.
Arsenal made a recent enquiry to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran
According to Romano, who shared his update on his YouTube channel, Arsenal recently ‘made a call’ to Aston Villa to find out about Jhon Duran.
Duran has been flying at Vi🌃lla this season, a str𓄧iker who would start for most top teams in Europe.

And it seems as if Arsenal only submitted a tentative enqui෴ry based off Romano’s words, it’s ꦰstill pretty remarkable news.
Sharing his update, Ro💜mano said: “For Jhon Duran, let me tell you some💟thing. West Ham had a bid rejected. Interest from several clubs around Europe.
“What I’m told is also Arsenal made a call in recent weeks to unde♐rstand the situation of Jhon Duran because Sesko, at the moment, no green light from Leipzig.
“Also, Alexander Isak, the dream target of Arsenal, super expensive, very complicated, impossibꦅle is nothing in football, but veryౠ complicated.
“So in the recent wee𝓰ks, Arsenal also called to understand the situation of Jhon Duran, but no bid, no direct negotiations with Aston Villa.
“Al-Nassr want Jhon Dur💎an, but Aston Villa insist on their position, they want to keep the player at the club.
“So, let’s see what’s going to happen and if maybe a crazy proposal can change their posi🌳tion f🅘or Jhon Duran.”
Jhon Duran could be Arsenal’s Alexander Isak alternative
Interestingly, Arsenal were linked with Duran in th♛e past too, a striker who is keen to explore options beyond Villa if it means being a re𝔍gular starter.
In the past, Arsenal were thought to have the chance to sign Alexand𓃲er Isak for 🧜a cut price from Newcastle United in comparison to what the Sweden international would cost now.
And even if Duran wou♈ld be expensive for Arteta’s side this month, is that there an opportunity 🎶to be had?
Villa think Duran is worth more than £100m, but if Arsenal seriously tabled their interest then a m🅷ore amicable price might be found, one that suits all parties.
It’s all very hypothetical for now, but it w♒ill certainly cause a huge transfer saga were the Gunners to seriously ignite their interest after a recent enquiry, albeit a fairly tentative one.
