Arsenal have begun contract talks with £27m star after interest from Paris Saint-Germain
- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
So far this year, Arsenal have already handed contract renewals to three members of Mikel Arteta’s squad: Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jorginho.
White signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal♑, whereas Jorginho and Tomiyasu’s new deals were slightly shorter, reflecting on their individual situations.
🅺Jorginho is now 32-years-old and is playing a squad role, whereas Tomiyasu’s contribution is being consistently undermined by injuries.
💯Either way, Arsenal are staying on top of their renewals, keen to avoid the club being put in a difficult position similar to the one Liverpool are experiencing with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold right now.
That being said, after his storming North London derby performance, TBR Football understands that Arsenal have begun contract talks with Gabriel Magalhaes.
Arsenal keen to sign Gabriel Magalhaes to a new deal after PSG interest
🍸Gabriel was immense for Arsenal in N17 on Sunday, winning his second player of the match award in a row away to Spurs.
♏Given their interest in signing the Brazilian, Paris Saint-Germain were represented at the derby, to watch both Gabriel and his centre-back teammate William Saliba.

🐷Saliba has obviously emerged as one of Europe’s top central defenders, and it’s little surprise to learn that PSG are keeping close tabs on him, especially given his Parisian roots.
🌱Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keen, but as mentioned, Saliba wasn’t the only player of interest to French scouts.
༒Gabriel was also being watched in the derby and is someone of interest to PSG.
🐽The defender partners PSG’s Marquinhos for Brazil, which may only heighten the French side’s intrigue.
🌼Fortunately from an Arsenal fan perspective, the mounting interest in Gabriel is one of the reasons that the club have now begun talks to tie the defender down to a new long-term deal.
Gabriel hailed for his North London derby winner
❀26-year-old Gabriel reportedly has a contract that runs until 2027 right now, one that won’t be causing the likes of Edu Gaspar a lot of stress.
ꩲBut given Sunday’s performance, it’s clear why Arsenal would want to put an end to any links away as soon as possible.
Saliba was amazed by Gabriel against Tottenhamꦗ, a display which has been widely applauded since the derby.
Timber also complemented Gabriel for Arsenal💟, a defender who is obviously delighted to be playing alongside the Brazilian.
⛦And if Arsenal are able to soon announce a new deal for Gabriel, it will certainly be another step in the right direction for Mikel Arteta and his side, who seem to be on the cusp of something brilliant.
