Arsenal have been telling Evan Ndicka to not sign new contract so they can get him for free – journalist
Football journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been making inroads in the deal to sign Evan Ndicka in 2023.
The Gunners have been linked with plenty of players ahead of the new year. The January transfer window is the priority at the moment, especially after Gabriel Jesus’ injury, but it looks like Edu and co are working on a summer transfer as well – Ndicka!

Ndicka has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a few months now.
The 23-year-old Frenchman, who’s 6ft 4in tall, has made a brilliant name for himself in Germany over the last four-and-a-half years. He can play as a centre-half and also as a left-back, which makes him a very useful option for a manager.
Ndicka has entered the final year of his contract at Frankfurt. He can sign a pre-contract with any foreign club in January as long as he doesn’t sign a new deal, and Jones has claimed that’s exactly what Arsenal have been convincing him to do.
The journalist told : “They’ve (Arsenal) been making inroads on this one for some time.
“They’ve really had to wait and hope that he didn’t sign a new deal with Frankfurt; I think they were trying to convince him to do that.”
If Ndicka does not extend his contract at Frankfurt, he will be available on a free transfer next summer.

Signing a player like Ndicka makes a lot of sense for Arsenal.
Firstly, he’s still only 23 years old. That fits Arsenal’s transfer policy of signing talented young players, and the fact that he can be brought in for free makes it even better.
Secondly, the Gunners do not have a natural alternative to Gabriel Magalhaes at left centre-half. Ndicka would be a perfect backup for the Brazilian, which explains why the the North Londoners have been heavily linked with a move to sign him for a few months now.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out, but signing Ndicka for free would be a very, very wise move by the Gunners.
