Clinton Morrison thinks Gary Cahill would be a good signing for Arsenal

Former Premier League football Clinton Morrison has told that Arsenal should look to sign Gary Cahill on a free transfer.

The ex-Crystal Palace striker was a pundit on and believes the former Chelsea man would be a ‘great signing’.

Cahill was released from Stamford Bridge at the end of last season and is currently without a club.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Juventus star Daniele Rugani on loan , and Morrison thinks he’d be ideal alongside Cahill.

“One man who’s available at the moment is Gary Cahill.

“I know they want younger players but if you sign Cahill to play alongside say, Rugani, then it’s a great signing.”

Cahill is 33 now but Arsenal will undoubtedly be on the lookout for defenders before the window slams shut next month.

TBR Verdict

This isn’t a bad shout from Morrison.

It is perhaps a surprise that Cahill hasn’t been picked up by anyone just yet given his vast experience.

The veteran earned during his last year at Chelsea and Arsenal may be unwilling to give him such a sum.

A chance to play for a couple more years at a top Premier League outfit would surely appeal to the Champions League-winning defender, however.

Alongside someone like the 25-year-old Rugani, it could be a decent partnership for the Gunners going into next season.
