Arsenal forward keen on joining another Premier League club

Arsenal have been fairly quiet on the transfer front this summer, with just one senior signing over the line thus far.

The Gunners have signed Riccardo Calafiori so far, while talks over a deal for Mikel Merino are said to be ongoing.

Arsenal have been a bit busier in terms of outgoings, with Gunners duo Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga moving away on initial loan deals.

More recently, Hale End graduate Emile Smith Rowe sealed a move to London rivals Fulham.

There are other players whose future at Arsenal is uncertain, with interest coming from various quarters including the Premier League.

Now, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has shared an update regarding one player who is said to be keen on leaving the Gunners.

Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson wants Premier League move

The player in question is Reiss Nelson, who has struggled to break into the Arsenal starting XI and looks set to move on.

West Ham have been linked with the forward, while Leicester City are said to have made their move for Nelson.

Nelson was the only outfield player who failed to get any game time in the 4-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night.

Sheth has now shared the latest on the 24-year-old, telling : “Nelson has found game time limited and wants to be playing regularly.

“Leicester City have held talks with Arsenal, with a number of European clubs also keen. The player’s preference – as it stands – us to remain in the Premier League.”

TalkSPORT transfer insider Alex Crook previously spoke of how eager Nelson is to seal a move away from Arsenal.

“Reiss Nelson is desperately trying to get away,” he said (talkSPORT, 20/7/24, 3:11pm). “I think West Ham are a potential destination for him.”

A deal that stands to benefit all parties

It’s a shame when a club stands to lose a player who has come through the ranks, broken into the first team and adores the club.

Nelson is a very exciting talent who has proven himself at a high level and has what it takes to make an impact at Arsenal.

However, he is just not getting enough game time as things stand and, at 24 years of age, he needs to be playing regularly.

Nelson leaving Arsenal would be a good deal for all parties.

He would get to play regularly at a club that will be getting themselves a great player, and the Gunners would make pure profit from his sale.
