Arsenal fans want to give Cech perfect send-off by winning Europa League
Arsenal became just the second team in Europa League history to overhaul a 3-1 away first-leg deficit in the knockout rounds to progress when they saw off Rennes 3-0 last night to qualify for the competition’s last eight last night.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ first home goal for the club and a double from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed the victory and saw Arsenal counteract the impact of a humiliating first-leg reverse to continue manager Unai Emery’s strong record in the competition.
Only Fulham’s 4-1 win against Juventus in 2010 at Craven Cottage has overturned such a first leg disadvantage but in truth, the Gunners managed it with relative ease as the pace of their attacking play was too much for their visitors to handle.
And one man has an additional motivation to land Europe’s secondary trophy – Petr Cech, who will retire from football at the end of the season.

One final trophy before the curtain comes down on a fantastic career would be little more than Cech deserves and the Gunners fans seem determined for that to come to true.
We’ve put together some of the most generous reaction from the Arsenal fans following a night where they took another step closer to getting their hands on some precious silverware.
