Barcelona have deemed Samuel Umtiti surplus to requirements and Arsenal are reportedly interested.
The Catalan giants are set to offer the World Cup winner to a number of clubs with the hope of someone taking him on loan with a view to a permanent signing in 2021.
Umtiti has won La Liga twice during his four years at the Nou Camp, having arrived from Lyon in 2016.
The Gunners will go in search of players who can make them great again next season, with the club facing the real prospect of not being involved in Europe during 2020/21.

Mikel Arteta has improved the club’s fortunes, although he has failed to lift the club into the higher echelons of the division.
Umtiti is paid by Barcelona and that wage could prove a stumbling block for Arsenal. If the Spanish club are willing to subsidise some of it, however, the Gunners might ramp up their interest.
It would seem Arsenal supporters are undecided over Umtiti. Whilst very few hold doubts over his ability, the concern comes over his fitness, with the Frenchman prone to the odd fitness problem.
Umtiti would comfortably be an upgrade on Arteta’s current crop of defenders, however, and it remains to be seen if they’ll pounce.
Here is a selection of tweets from Arsenal supporters regarding the availability of the Barcelona star.
I know it must be tempting, but please don't go anywhere near Samuel Umtiti, Arsenal.

Huge no to Umtiti.I personally don't rate him.He is unreliable due to his Injuries and not tested in this league.

Why are we always trying to do things on the cheap or buy broken players like arsenal spinning the wheel of fortune hoping they get lucky this is a great player but we don’t need to pay for something that’s constantly breaking down physically! 😔😔 clubs going nowhere fast

i really don't want injury prone players at Arsenal. I like him and he is a really great player but what is the point in having him when he can't play more than 12 games a season? I'd look at other options.

Still think he’s too injury prone, and although we aren’t really in a position to be picking and choosing, I would much prefer Upamecano.

Error prone, one legged and not as tough as some mid table defenders in the EPL
My opinion though.
