Arsenal fans think Eberechi Eze deal could now be on after seeing what Crystal Palace have done – ‘this is big’

Arsenal are targeting a move for Eberechi Eze this summer after his heroic 2024/25 campaign at Crystal Palace.

The England international enjoyed the finest season of his career last term with 14 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances, one of those strikes securing a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

TBR Football understand Eze thinks a move to Arsenal will happen this summer.

The Crystal Palace No.10 has a £68m release clause written into his contract at Selhurst Park.

Now, the south Londoners have done something involving Eberechi Eze which has generated a bit of excitement over at Arsenal.

Arsenal fans buzz as Crystal Palace identify Eberechi Eze replacement

Sacha Tavolieri claims that Crystal Palace have now shortlisted Bilal El Khannouss as a potential replacement for the 27-year-old this summer.

The mere fact Crystal Palace even feel the need to have a replacement lined up has offered plenty of encouragement to those over in N5.

One Arsenal fan wrote that the situation is “looking good” after hearing about Crystal Palace and the Leicester No.11 – who cost the Foxes £21m in a switch from Genk last August.

Another posted: “This is big. They know a deal will get done.”

A third Arsenal supporter excitedly added: “If there’s a shortlist, he’s probably leaving.”

TBR Football understand Crystal Palace might be open to the £68m release clause being paid in instalments this summer, which could help Arsenal finance the deal – having already spent just over £200m on the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres.

Another said it was “nice” to see Crystal Palace shortlist El Khannouss – who TBR Football understand Tottenham and Newcastle also like.

Evidently, Arsenal fans are starting to feel some real hope over a deal for Eze following this development at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal are also admirers of Bilal El Khannouss

The Morocco international could actually have a leading role to play in the remainder of the summer transfer window.

TBR Football understand Arsenal like El Khannouss too after his impressive performances for Leicester last season, and believe the African wonderkid has significant potential.

Therefore, if a deal for Eze does not materialise, a swoop for the 21-year-old cannot be ruled out instead.
