Arsenal fans react on Twitter as club post Charlie Patino video

Charlie Patino appears to have further established himself as one of the most exciting prospects coming through in Arsenal’s academy with a stunning goal on Tuesday night.

The 17-year-old was involved as the under-18s faced Rotherham United in the FA Youth Cup.

It was Mazeed Ogungbo who bagged the winner to make the score 2-1. But it appears that Patino was the one to really catch the eye for the Gunners in the victory.

The midfielder scored an outstanding goal from outside the area with 15 minutes remaining. He took a fantastic first touch to get the ball out of his feet.

And he then ran on to unleash a wicked strike that found its way into the top corner. Unsurprisingly, the goalkeeper seemed to get nowhere near the effort.

Patino is yet to make his Premier League 2 debut for the club’s under-23s. But that has not prevented the teenager from creating an incredible buzz amongst the supporters on social media.

Some are clearly convinced that he is going to end up in the first-team in the future. Several suggested that the strike reminded them of something they would have seen at the start of Jack Wilshere’s career.

And it will probably come as little surprise to many that, with Mikel Arteta’s men struggling right now, some think the Spaniard could do a lot worse than consider the youngster right now.

With that in mind, here is the tweet Arsenal posted, along with some of the best responses…
