Arsenal fans react as West Ham star Pablo Fornals shines against Liverpool

Pablo Fornals continued his stunning form on Sunday evening as West Ham produced a sparkling display to beat Liverpool at the London Stadium. The Hammers secured a sensational 3-2 win against Jurgen Klopp’s men. Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to Fornals, praising the Spanish midfielder.

Arsenal clocked up a sixth win in eight Premier League matches, but they were not the only London side to win yesterday. West Ham also continued their fantastic form, surprising many to beat Klopp’s title contenders. West Ham sit in third place, as we enter the final international break of 2021.

Liverpool scored goals through Divock Origi and Trent Alexander-Arnold – but West Ham’s set pieces and counter attacks proved too much. Kurt Zouma and an Alisson own goal resulted from corners, while Craig Dawson also hit the bar. West Ham’s attackers also proved decisive.

On the counter, Liverpool were opened up by West Ham. It was Jarrod Bowen, a player linked with a move to Liverpool, that proved crucial to West Ham’s surprise result. His run forward through a number of Reds players saw the winger play through Fornals, though on goal.

The 25-year-old took a touch, before finishing past Alisson. It was not the Brazilian’s best game, and he might have felt he could have Fornals’ effort – but nevertheless, Fornals did enough. A sixth goal involvement in 11 Premier League games for the £25million signing ().

Arsenal could do with a player like West Ham star Fornals…

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in stunning form. Mikel Arteta seems to have all the ingredients necessary – finding the right identity and solutions. But ultimately, Arsenal lack a left winger. Against Watford, Emile Smith-Rowe played on the left – but he is better in the 10 and only scored in that role.

Bukayo Saka is being used on the right with Nicolas Pepe seemingly not good enough for the Gunners starting XI. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored seven goals in 11 games this season – because he is being given the chance to lead the attack. Martin Odegaard has been inconsistent.

Another option on the left is needed. While Fornals is often seen cutting inside, he is shining on the left for the Hammers – largely because of his unpredictability. Cutting inside, going to the byline, or drifting into the middle – Fornals is a crucial part of West Ham’s brilliant side.

Arsenal need a bit of that. A player that starred alongside Santi Cazorla for Villarreal. Fornals is now a Spain international, he offers work rate – something Arteta looks for in his players. Versatile, too. He has a bit of everything; pace, trickery, work rate, goals, assists, aggression.

Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter having watched Fornals shine for the Hammers on Sunday evening. Many simply praised the Hammers star, while others would love to see him brought to North London.
