Arsenal fans react as report claims Maurizio Sarri could replace Mikel Arteta at The Emirates

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for ex-Chelsea and Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri as Mikel Arteta gets ‘closer’ to being sacked by the Gunners board – and Arsenal supporters have responded to the news on Twitter.

Arsenal currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League after 10 games, last tasting victory in England’s top tier against Manchester United – over a month ago. The Gunners have netted just one point from their last three games.

that Arteta is on the verge of being sacked at Arsenal with sporting director Edu keeping tabs on the situation. Arteta is in danger of losing the job, despite only being in the role for the best part of a year.

The report also claims that Edu has compiled a shortlist of managers that could potentially replace Arteta. Indeed, the name currently topping said shortlist is 61-year-old boss Sarri after he was replaced by Andrea Pirlo at Juventus.

Sarri won the Europa League while at Chelsea, beating Arsenal 4-1 in the final – while helping Juventus win the Serie A table. However, failing to win the Coppa Italia and struggling in the Champions League saw Sarri replaced.

Now, Sarri is looking for a new home and many Arsenal fans have reacted to the reports. Arsenal supporters think Sarri would boost their club’s chances of bringing Jorginho to the club, while others would rather Arteta remained in the hotseat.
