Arsenal fans react as Reiss Nelson could reportedly join German side in January

Arsenal could reportedly wave goodbye to Reiss Nelson in January with German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin potentially set to renew their interest in the young winger – and Gunners supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Nelson, 21, is one of a handful of young Arsenal players that are currently shining in the Europa League but failing to be awarded the chance to shine in the Premier League. He has been afforded just two Premier League outings by Mikel Arteta.

Along with Eddie Nketiah, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock, England Under-21 star Nelson is struggling to get game time – despite the poor form of the senior players. That is despite Nicolas Pepe and William both being heavily criticised.

reporter Chris Wheatley stated that Hertha Berlin wanted Nelson in the summer and could reiginite said interest come January – with Nelson perhaps open to leave north London on loan.

“Hertha Berlin were really interested in Reiss Nelson over the summer,” . “They could revive their interest in January and have a good relationship with Arsenal following the recent Matteo Guendouzi and Omar Rekik deals.”

Certainly, Guendouzi is impressing at Hertha – while Nelson has experience of German football. During a spell with Hoffenheim, Nelson clocked up 29 appearances in all competitions and scored an impressive seven goals.

A move to Germany could be in the offing then. Arsenal supporters reacted to the news that Nelson may leave on loan for the second time in his career – and seem to be in disagreement. Some are all for a loan, while others think he should stay.

Here are some supporters backing the idea of a loan:
