Arsenal fans react as Real Betis linked with move for Gunners outcast Mo Elneny

La Liga outfit Real Betis are reportedly interested in signing Mo Elneny from Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window despite the midfielder remaining on loan at Besiktas – but Arsenal fans are more than willing to wave goodbye.

the 27-year-old is a target for Betis, with the Spanish side ‘much more in need’ of a central midfielder than AC Milan and Sevilla – who have also been linked with a move for the Egyptian star.

Elneny moved on a season-long loan to Besiktas in the summer after falling down the pecking order at Arsenal. He was fifth choice behind the likes of Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira.

The former FC Basel midfielder has been in good form in Turkey, despite being sent off on his debut for the Super Lig title challengers. He has since made 12 appearances for Besiktas, and is considered in high regard by Besiktas fans.

Despite his £50,000-a-week contract () at Arsenal running until the summer of 2022, Elneny looks set to leave the Emirates Stadium on a permanent basis and now he could move to Spain with Real Betis.

It would see the midfielder team up with the likes of Nabil Fekir, William Carvalho and Marc Bartra. Many Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter and the Gunners supporters are willing to see him leave, while one fan wants a swap deal for Fekir.
