Arsenal fans react as Monaco reportedly eye Lucas Torreira

Monaco have reportedly tabled a three-year deal to take Lucas Torreira to France on a permanent basis from Arsenal as he continues to struggle to get game time on loan at Atletico Madrid – and Arsenal fans have responded.

Torreira, 24, temporarily ended a two-year spell at Arsenal when he joined Diego Simeone’s Atleti in the summer on a season-long loan. Thomas Partey moved the other way, swapping Simeone’s side for North London.

However, the Uruguay international has struggled at Atleti. He has managed just 15 appearances in all competitions and only two La Liga starts, coming on as a substitute in seven other league games. A January move is on the cards.

His agent has stated that he is happy at Atleti, but Italian site that Monaco have moved to lure Torreira to France – a move that would see him team up with Cesc Fabregas in midfield.

It remains to be seen how much Arsenal would want for Torreira, given they spent £24million on him in the summer of 2018 to sign him from Sampdoria. His stock is still pretty high given he is playing for Atletico Madrid.

But Arsenal may want to get rid quickly in order to bring in some cash for signings before the end of the window. Arsenal fans are clearly open to his exit, but want a big offer. One fan wants as much as £30million.
