Arsenal fans react as Manchester City reportedly have £41m bid accepted

Manchester City have reportedly had a £41million bid accepted by recently-relegated AFC Bournemouth for highly-rated centre-back Nathan Ake – and Arsenal supporters have reacted in frustrated manner on Twitter.

Ake, 25, was one of Bournemouth’s shining lights in a difficult campaign that has ultimately seen the Cherries suffer relegation. He is one of a number of players expected to leave the Vitality Stadium this summer.

David Brooks, Callum Wilson, Josh King and others have been linked with leaving Bournemouth and it looks as though the Cherries are ready to cash in. Indeed, they are about to rake north of £41million for Ake.

That is according to , who claim Manchester City have agreed a fee with Bournemouth for the left-footed centre-back who came through the ranks at Chelsea before moving to the south cost with Eddie Howe’s side.

An 11-time Netherlands international, Ake is rated highly and has been linked with a return to Chelsea – while Tottenham were also said to be interested. Talks between Bournemouth and City began before the end of the season.

However, the relegation suffered by Bournemouth to the Championship signaled the end of Ake’s spell at the Vitality. Arsenal fans reacted in frustrated manner to the news that City had reportedly had a bid accepted.

Some are annoyed that they did not consider a move for Ake – while some are frustrated that Ake is going for a price as much as £41million, a fee seemingly out of the Gunners’ price range.
