Arsenal fans react as Lyon ace Memphis Depay is linked with summer transfer
Arsenal thrashed Norwich City 4-0 yesterday and they will hope to finish the season with a flourish. Mikel Arteta will hope to use the last few games of the campaign to show potential signings he is capable of reviving the club’s fortunes.
The Gunners endured a sticky start to the return of action. They were beaten by Manchester City and Brighton but wins over Southampton, Sheffield United and the Canaries have them looking up again.
One man who is reportedly in Arteta’s sights is Lyon forward Memphis Depay. The ex-Manchester United man has spent time reviving his career in France and feel he may well leave his current club in the summer.
Arsenal fans remain sceptical though. It seems as though each year the club are linked with top players, but more often than not the deals fall through.
Depay could be an interesting one though as his contract is up at Lyon in the summer of 2021 so a bargain price might be agreed.
The 26-year-old’s pace and direct style might be brilliant in Arteta’s new-look style of play and Gunners fans seem happy with the link.

Memphis Depay has premier league experience. He’s matured from his days at Man United and if he costs only £20m, and Arteta feels he’s a perfect fit. Arsenal should go grab their man.
