Arsenal fans react as club reportedly approach experienced Portuguese man

Arsenal have reportedly approached Benfica manager Jorge Jesus over potentially replacing Mikel Arteta at The Emirates, with the Spaniard still under pressure. Arsenal fans have reacted to the news on Twitter.

Arteta relieved some more pressure on Saturday with a comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton. A brilliant performance from his side, even after he dropped captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal sit in sixth place in the Premier League, but there are still doubts. The Gunners lost their first three games, and have lost three of their last five – including a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.

So, the pressure is on Arteta, after spending so much in the summer. Arsenal have approached the three-time Liga NOS champion – with more than 1200 games at 14 different clubs under his belt.

He has never managed on England and despite being in the last few years of his managerial career, it is claimed Jesus is keen on chancing his arm in English football. He is open to joining Arsenal.

What are Arsenal fans saying about Benfica gaffer Jesus?

The chances of Arteta leaving, only a few months after bringing in his players and spending the best part of £150million, means he is unlikely to go. But as any modern club does these days, Arsenal will have a shortlist.

A list of names that they can turn to if Arteta does go – for whatever reason. Rangers brought in ex-Arsenal star Giovanni van Bronckhorst this season, having lost Steven Gerrard. He was on a pre-compiled shortlist.

Arsenal fans have responded to reports that Jesus could be brought in as a replacement for Arteta. Many think he would be a good addition at The Emirates.
