Arsenal fans react as club linked with Real Madrid superstar James Rodriguez

Arsenal are reportedly willing to splash £36million to sign Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez in the January transfer window as the Colombian struggles under Zinedine Zidane – and Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter.

Rodriguez, 28, is suffering through injury and a lack of game time at the moment. He finds himself in a similar position to Gareth Bale, in that the club and indeed Zidane want him. A move in January is not out off the table.

The breakthrough of Fede Valverde, the presence of Isco and the form of both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric is keeping James out of the side – after he returned from his two-year loan spell at German champions Bayern Munich.

He has managed just seven league appearances since returning to Real and has failed to play in any of their Champions League matches so far. Injury and being overlooked by Zidane have limited his game time.

That has seen that The Gunners are willing to spend £36million to sign the ex-Monaco and Porto star in January – but president Florentino Perez wants £6.5million more for his signature.

Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club are after the Real ace and could look to sign him for quite a big fee. The general feeling is that they would rather their club avoid Rodriguez.
