Arsenal fans react as 22-year-old is linked with Gunners transfer

Arsenal are considering Alexander Isak as a possible alternative to Dusan Vlahovic in their quest to land a new striker,

The 22-year-old is currently playing for Real Sociedad in La Liga where he has scored six goals in 16 appearances during 2021/22.

He has been in Spain since 2019 when he was signed from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

Isak caught the eye with some lively performances for Sweden at Euro 2020, registering two assists as his country reached the last 16.

The talented youngster bagged 17 goals in 44 games for Real Sociedad last season and now has admiring glances from the Premier League.

Like Isak, Vlahovic is backed for a bright future in the game. He has fired 13 goals already this season and has a substantial value placed on his head by Fiorentina.

Vlahovic might be out of reach but the Isak is a realistic signing that Arsenal must pursue in the near future.

Isak is at a nice age where he could spearhead the Arsenal attack for many years to come.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goals have dried up. As a result, perhaps now is the time to set the wheels in motion to sign a new striker.

Isak is more than a centre-forward and he’s very capable of bringing other players into the game too.

There are some doubts over whether Isak can become a 20-goal a season striker but in a team boasting lots of creativity he should be okay.
