Arsenal fans overjoyed as Dennis Bergkamp is linked with coaching role

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is thought to be keen to add club legend Dennis Bergkamp to his backroom staff – and supporters have been reacting on Twitter.

, the Spanish boss is wanting to replace the recently departed Freddie Ljungberg with Bergkamp on his coaching staff.

The 51-year-old is thought to be keen on returning to work at the Emirates Stadium and has recently been coaching Dutch minnows Almere City.

He was sacked as the assistant manager of Ajax three years ago and has been working with the Amsterdam-based Almere since then.

Arsenal supporters would relish his return, with Bergkamp having a reputation as being a whizz when it comes to nurturing young talent.

The report claims that Arteta was planning on asking Santi Cazorla back to the club. Those plans were scuppered, however, when the player chose to continue his playing career in Qatar.

That has led the Gunners to Bergkamp and the three-time Premier League winner returning would surely delight the club’s supporters.
