Arsenal fans left stunned by what Viktor Gyokeres has just done to secure a move to the Emirates
After a slow start, Arsenal’s transfer window is starting to explode into life with the club making significant strides in the last few days.
The Gunners have already secured the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, and on Sunday, Arsenal announced the arrival of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Arsenal are still targeting a new left-winger and a striker, with Viktor Gyokeres strongly linked with a move to the Emirates. The latest reports suggest that a deal is agreed and that Gyokeres is on his way to join Arsenal.
As the striker edges closer to a sensational switch to the Emirates, what has really caught the attention of Arsenal fans is the striker’s personal sacrifice to help push the deal through.

Arsenal fans react to Viktor Gyokeres making personal sacrifices to push a move
The Gyokeres saga has dragged on throughout the summer, with Sporting CP refusing to lower their asking price despite having a gentleman’s agreement with the player last season.
This has resulted in a hostile relationship between the player and the club, with Gyokeres even refusing to play for the club again.
Fabrizio Romano reported on X that the player agreed to give up £1.7m from his salary to facilitate negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting, trying his best to make the deal happen.
And he has already won over Arsenal fans, with supporters stunned by the player’s gesture.
One said: “Bro is on his knees to join us. I love him already.”
Another said: “This guy will die for the badge from minute 1. What a guy! I love the passion and the energy. He deserves this move more than anyone. We will welcome him with open arms.”
A third said: “Fairplay man. He is totally committed. You can’t discount that at all.”
Another compared his gesture being similar to what Mikel Arteta himself did to secure a move to Arsenal.
One fan joked that Gyokeres is willing to spend his own money to avoid ending up at Man United: “He is paying money from his pocket so he does not end up with Ruben Amorim!”
And some fans are convinced that they are winning the league next season after signing Gyokeres.
“If Arsenal sign Gyokeres, he will link up with Saka and they have Rice and Zubimendi in the midfield. Nothing will stop them from winning the Premier League.”
Another believed that Gyokeres would have won them the Premier League last season: “If we had him last season, we would have won the league. We are definitely winning next season.”
Viktor Gyokeres’ incredible goalscoring record
Gyokeres will no doubt be an incredible signing for Arsenal. The Gunners are solid in defence and have a strong midfield as well. The only position that needed to be strengthened was the centre-forward position.
And they are close to doing it with a player who scored the most goals across Europe last season.
In 52 games, the Swede scored 54 goals and assisted another 13 across all competitions, taking his overall record for the Portuguese club to 97 goals and 28 assists in 102 games.
Club | Games | Goals | Assists | Total G+A |
Coventry | 116 | 43 | 17 | 60 |
Sporting CP | 102 | 97 | 28 | 125 |
Brommapojkarna | 67 | 25 | 9 | 34 |
Brighton U23 | 31 | 14 | 5 | 19 |
He also has experience playing in England, having previously spent time at Brighton as well as Coventry, where he scored 43 goals and assisted 17 in 116 games across all competitions.
With both Man City and Liverpool also bolstering their squads, the coming season is expected to be an exciting one, with the top three expected to go at it for the title once again.
