Arsenal fans discuss reports over move for Barcelona player
Arsenal are back in the mix to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Neto during the transfer window. The Gunners have gone back to the drawing board with a deal for Aaron Ramsdale in jeopardy.
The experienced stopper is a long-term target for the Gunners. Once again he finds himself out of contention at Barcelona and could leave the club this summer.
Neto has never really been first-choice at Barca. He checked in during the summer of 2019 from Valencia and has made just 17 appearances for the Catalan giants.

Arsenal are in the market for a backup goalkeeper. Bernd Leno is still in possession of the gloves, although Runar Runarsson could yet depart on loan.
There are high hopes for young stopper Arthur Okonkwo, although he is perhaps too raw to be Leno’s understudy during 2021/22.
That has seen Arsenal prepare another move for Neto. It is claimed that the Gunners would be keen on striking a loan with Barcelona for a player who has two years remaining on his current deal.
The 32-year-old is a renowned number two. With that in mind, he wouldn’t come in demanding to play football on a regular basis. What he would do, however, is provide solid competition for Leno’s place.
Arsenal fans would welcome Neto
The Gunners fan base have watched a pretty hectic summer unfold. There was a long chase for Ben White, whilst Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga have also arrived.
Another goalkeeper is definitely needed though and Mikel Arteta is well aware of the need for a capable understudy.

Neto would certainly match the criteria for a decent player. He’d come in and wouldn’t kick up a fuss acting as a backup, whilst he’d provide a capable presence for the cup competitions.
Arsenal fans seem keen for him to check-in at the North London-based club. Following today’s reports, we looked at what supporters were saying about the player on Twitter.
