Arsenal fans discuss Marcel Sabitzer as Julien Laurens claims Gunners are interested

Tottenham Hotspur have been long linked with a move for RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer ahead of the January transfer window but Arsenal could be about to rival their North London enemies – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter.

Sabitzer, 26, has been the driving force behind Julian Nagelsmann and Leipzig’s rise into the Champions League and pursuit of a Bundesliga title – though Bayern continue to dominate that particular race. He is one of the best midfielders in Europe.

this week that Spurs have been keeping tabs on the 44-time Austria international for some time, with Leipzig seemingly willing to eave goodbye to the midfielder if a fee of £45million is tabled ahead of the January window.

Now, French journalist Julien Laurens has told his ‘Gaby and Jules’ that many English clubs are interested with Arsenal being one of those – as the Gunners look to replace the hole left by axing Mesut Ozil back in the summer.

“There is another club [interested in Sabitzer], I think Arsenal are very keen as well. I think there’s a few English clubs. He would be a great signing, potentially quite cheap as well for the kind of player that you’re getting. It’s a no-brainer,”

Goals, assists, and a powerful presence from midfield, Sabitzer is just what Arsenal need. The Gunners are trying to sign a number 10 as they continue to be linked with the likes of Houssem Aouar and Emi Buendia. January’s window opens this week.

Arsenal supporters reacted to the reported news that they could look to rival Tottenham and elbow Jose Mourinho’s side out of the water for Sabitzer in January – and many have pleaded with their club to nab the midfielder’s signature.
