Arsenal fans discuss links with Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri

Arsenal have identified Youssef En-Nesyri as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang,

Aubameyang is now 32 and Arsenal have to start looking for a replacement. During 2020/21, the Gunners talisman fired 15 goals and claimed four assists, playing 23 games up front and 15 on the left flank.

Arsene Wenger parted with of his transfer budget to land Aubameyang back in 2018. He has proved a decent addition to the Arsenal ranks, scoring 88 goals in 151 appearances.

Mikel Arteta hasn’t overseen a win, or even a goal from his team so far this season. Arsenal face Norwich City on Saturday in a game that could prove decisive for the Spaniard.

Aubameyang is the Arsenal captain and their main talisman. Ultimately, sentiment can’t remain forever and a younger striker needs identifying in the near future.

That brings us to En-Nesyri. The Moroccan striker has been a revelation for Sevilla. He signed for the club from Leganes back in 2020 and has enjoyed a great start to life at the Spanish giants.

En-Nesyri has scored 32 goals in 81 games for the club, helping them lift the Europa League during the 2019/20 campaign.

What have Arsenal fans said about En-Nesyri links?

It would seem as though this would be a popular signing; and why wouldn’t it be? Arsenal are in a situation as a club right now where they can’t be overly choosy over who they add to their squad.

Arsenal don’t have the reputation they once had in European football and they’ll have to work with that. The longer they remain outside of European competition, the longer they will be forced into shopping in a different market.

It seems as though plenty would certainly welcome the Morocco international to the Emirates Stadium, with some viewing it as a no-brainer.

Here is what Twitter has been saying about Arsenal pursuing En-Nesyri in the near future.
