Arsenal fans discuss Bernd Leno display on Twitter after loss

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the performance of Bernd Leno after the Gunners were knocked out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s men were beaten by a late Lewis Grabban goal at the City Ground. However, there is little question that the strike had been coming.

Arsenal were extremely poor against the Championship side. And they only managed a few attempts on goal, with Eddie Nketiah missing their best opportunity in the second-half.

The scoreline could have probably been a lot more comfortable for the home side. However, they came up against a Leno who was playing like a goalkeeper with a point to prove.

He made a number of excellent saves, including one dramatic stop from a brilliant James Garner free-kick during the second-half. One of his saves prompted Aaron Ramsdale to get out of his seat and applaud his teammate from the bench.

And it would appear that Leno is one of the only Arsenal players to emerge from Sunday’s game with any credit. In fact, plenty of the club’s fans have suggested on Twitter that he was their best player by some distance.

Certainly, it is felt that he was one of the few who could hold his head up high following the loss. Obviously, there is not a clamour for Ramsdale to be replaced as number one by any means. But many were still impressed.
