Arsenal fans discuss Alexandre Lacazette display against Leeds
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the performance of Alexandre Lacazette after the striker helped the Gunners to an emphatic win at Leeds on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta’s men will spend Christmas in the Premier League’s top four after a 4-1 win at Elland Road. The contest was over by half-time as Arsenal took a 3-0 lead into the break against a depleted Leeds side.

Lacazette did not actually score in the win. And his record in the last 10 Premier League games is not great on paper, with just one goal coming in that time.
However, plenty of fans felt that his performance was a huge plus against the Whites. He provided the assist for the opening goal, capitalising on Adam Forshaw not clearing his lines inside the penalty area.

And his running throughout the game stretched a Leeds squad that looked to have nothing in the tank. He also continues to thrive in the captaincy role for Arteta’s side.
Admittedly, some on social media have insisted that Arsenal need a more ruthless goalscorer. But the large majority felt that he was the perfect player to lead the line with figures such as Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka flying around him.
‘Work-rate is unmatched’: Arsenal fans react to Alexandre Lacazette display vs Leeds
There is, of course, a question surrounding Lacazette’s future at the Emirates. His contract is up in the summer.
But several of the Arsenal fans on social media have insisted that he cannot go anywhere while in this form.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Arsenal fans made of Lacazette’s performance…
Seeing Laca charging back to nick the ball in the 91st minute reminded me why I love him. Was a constant problem tonight, never scored but his contribution off the ball is sometimes enormous. Yesterday I read I deserve 8th place because I rate his performances for the club

Lacazette’s ability to bring others into the game is really good but his finishing needs to be better.

Alexandre Lacazette is the striker most suited to our style. He has it all, workrate, link-up play, creativity, lethal finishing and holds the ball up masterfully. A complete striker. We cannot let him go! ⚪️🔴
