Arsenal fans call for more minutes for summer signing Tavares

Arsenal fans want to see more of Nuno Tavares.

The Portuguese left-back has been solid when he’s played and now the fans want to see more of him.

It certainly helps his cause that for Portugal this break he’s been sublime.

Called up to the Portugal U21 side, Nuno Tavares shone in a huge win.

In UEFA European Championship’s U21 qualifying, Portugal overcame Liechtenstein 11-0.

In that game, Nuno bagged a goal and two assists as he shone from left-back ().

Obviously there were a lot of opportunities to get forward in the drubbing, but Tavares still starred.

Now, many Arsenal fans want to see the Portuguese defender get some more minutes.

Kieran Tierney is the number one choice at left-back for the Gunners.

However, given his injury prone nature, Tavares could be set to feature a lot.

If he can string together a few displays in the Premier League then he could usurp Tierney.

The 21-year-old is a fantastic attacking option from defence.

So far for Arsenal he’s made just four cameo displays in the Premier League.

However, with more game time being accumulated over the international break the fans will be keen to see him step into the starting side.

The only starts that Tavares has made have been in the Carabao Cup.

Being out of Europe means that the Gunners have less games to rotate and give the likes of Tavares decent minutes.

Crucially, despite primarily being a left-back, Tavares can deputise on the right of defence too.

This could give him more of a chance to star in league action, something the fans evidently want to see.
