Arsenal fans blown away by David Luiz masterclass against Manchester City

Arsenal produced a stunning performance to shock Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were left amazed by the performance from their defender David Luiz.

The Gunners went into the contest as big underdogs, but will now face either Manchester United or Chelsea in the FA Cup final after their 2-0 success.

Mikel Arteta’s side had to defend for their lives for the majority of the game, but they stood firm against a Man City outfit that have been free-flowing all season.

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a goal in each half on the counter attack to catch out Pep Guardiola’s team and it highlighted that he is one of the most clinical finishers around.

Despite sitting a lowly ninth in the Premier League table, the north London club have reached a domestic cup final and are showing huge signs of improvement under Arteta.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media went wild about the display of Luiz in the 2-0 victory.

The 33-year-old centre-back has had his fair share of criticism during his debut season at the Emirates Stadium and has made some high-profile mistakes, but he was faultless at the back at Wembley.

He completely shut out Man City with his aerial dominance and is clearly suited to playing in a back three system, something he did so effectively in a Chelsea team when he won the Premier League title in 2016/17.
