Arsenal fans believe they’re about to pull off a ‘major coup’ that will make them a force to be reckoned with
Arsenal are set for a huge summer on the transfer front as they look to apply the finishing touches to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Arsenal are also looking to shape up their backroom team to give them the cutting edge when it comes to identifying and signing top talents.
For instance, Andrea Berta joined Arsenal as their new sporting director earlier this year, and he has been busy working on prospective signings.
Indeed, the likes of Barcelona have been left stunned by how much work Arsenal have been putting in the early stages of the transfer window.
Now, Arsenal are said to be closing in on an appointment that some Gunners fans have described as a “major coup” and “monumental”.

Fabrizio Romano recently that Arsenal are in advanced talks with Matteo Tognozzi, the former Juventus head of scouting and Granada director.
The transfer insider said Tognozzi would be part of the team working under Berta at Arsenal.
Tognozzi is credited with signing the likes of Dean Huijsen, Matias Soule and Kenan Yildiz for Juventus.
He also spotted Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland before they exploded onto the scene.
“Berta plus Tognozzi is a beautiful sign for longevity,” one fan wrote on X. “The pull factor for Arsenal will be monumental.”
Another said: “Tognozzi’s the guy that found Yildiz and Huijsen. Arsenal’s youth recruitment will no longer involve (players) like Marquinhos.”
The cautious optimism around Tognozzi kept coming, with one fan adding: “Arsenal are well run in the senior team.
“However, the youth system has left a lot to be desired. From talent identification to loan programs, the club need to get better.
“Tognozzi is a step in the right direction.”
Another fan wrote: “Seeing Juventus fan tweets in the past only praising Tognozzi’s work and missing him.
“Arsenal nation… we might have real scouting back at our club…”

Who Arsenal could look to sign this summer
Arsenal are reported to be on the verge of signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Attacking reinforcements are also high up on Arsenal’s wishlist after misfiring one too many times in front of goal last season.
Arsenal are keen on Benjamin Sesko, who has been superb for RB Leipzig, and the Gunners are also scouring the market for wingers.
Nico Williams has been linked to Arsenal for a long time, while Anthony Gordon is on Arsenal’s radar as well.
While these are all first-team ready players, Tognozzi would help Arsenal identify young talents who could go on to become stars in just a few years.
