Arsenal fans are in disbelief as Arteta is linked with Barcelona job

Despite a poor season with Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s stock appears to still be high in the world of football.

that the Gunners boss is someone FC Barcelona are considering as a replacement for Ronald Koeman. The Dutch manager finished third with the Catalan side and won the Copa del Rey.

There are murmurs that Koeman could leave the club in the coming weeks after a somewhat disappointing season. And Arteta has been identified as a potential successor to the former Netherlands boss.

And Arsenal supporters on social media were bemused by the news. Despite a dismal season the Gunners, some fans are keen for the club to keep hold of Arteta. The Basque coach is viewed as a long-term manager for the north London club.

Arteta did mistakes in europa semi final but this is expected from a inexperienced manager. But he has done so many other positive things. We must trust and give him another full season. Plus owner must really back him in transfer window.

Arteta is a former Barcelona player and came through the club’s famed La Masia academy. However, the ex-midfielder never made an appearance for the first-team and left in 2002 for a move to Rangers.
