Arsenal fans amazed by teen’s display in Under-23 win over Tottenham
Arsenal’s Under-23 side produced a 2-1 win over North London rivals over Tottenham on Friday – and Arsenal fans applauded Charlie Patino.
Kevin Betsy took his newly-inherited side across North London to Tottenham’s training ground, to face Arsenal. A feisty game ended 2-1.
The Gunners secured their second Premier League 2 win of the season, having suffered a 6-1 loss to West Ham in their opening outing.
Arsenal then beat newly-promoted Crystal Palace at home with a 4-2 win. Betsy named a strong 23’s side against Spurs, including senior star Gabriel.
The Brazilian wore the captain’s armband and got 45 minutes as he continued his recover from injury. But it was Patino that caught the eye.

Spurs took the lead just after the break after the the deadlock remained at the half-time whistle. Harvey White found Alfie Devine, who scored.
But Arsenal came roaring back, Devine’s goal seemingly sparking the Gunners into life. Kido Taylor-Hart got both goals for the Gunners.
Scoring nine minutes after Tottenham’s opener, Taylor-Hart got the winner 12 minutes later on 71. But it was Patino that really caught the eye.
Already playing well above his age group given he is just 17, it was just the seventh appearance for the Watford-born star at reserve team level.
But he looked right at home, orchestrating the tempo of the game from the middle of the park. Arsenal fans raved about Patino on Twitter.
