Arsenal fans all think Mikel Arteta could be about to sign ‘another Raheem Sterling’ after watching the Nations League
Arsenal have been linked with several players in recent weeks.
The Gunners are expected to make some big signings this summer, and Andrea Berta’s focus is on his side’s attack ahead of the start of the new season.
A new striker is the priority for Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta needs a wide player too to give his side the best chance of winning silverware.
Among all the names linked with Arsenal is Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich, who, as things stand, will be available for free in July.
Reports have claimed that Sane would rather join Arsenal than Tottenham this summer, and talks have taken place over a move.
Arsenal fans watched the German in action in the Nations League on Wednesday night, and they have now had their say on the potential signing.
Arsenal fans react to Leroy Sane rumours after watching him play for Germany vs Portugal
Leroy Sane started for Germany in their defeat to Portugal in the semi-finals of the Nations League in Munich on Wednesday.
After watching him in action, Arsenal fans all had one thing to say.
One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Sane is another Sterling type of player.”
Another wrote: “It would be another case equally or even worse than that of STERLING.”
“Would just be another Raheem Sterling. Invest in a proper young winger instead,” said another.
Another Gooner tweeted: “He’s another Sterling in disguise.”
“Sterling was a flop, but he didn’t cost much. Sane will ask you to be the highest-paid player in the squad…it’s not worth it.”
Leroy Sane’s stats vs Portugal
Sane was not awful by any means against Portugal on Wednesday night.
The German had a decent start to the game, and he showed flashes of his quality. But, he just couldn’t do enough in the final third to make a meaningful difference.
In his 61 minutes on the pitch, Sane made just one successful dribble and lost possession eight times. He also maintained only an 82 per cent passing accuracy.
The Bayern Munich star did, however, create three chances, which shows that he can still deliver even when he is not at his absolute best ().
Arsenal should absolutely prioritise a younger winger, but Sane on a free transfer won’t be the worst deal they have pulled off in recent years.
