Arsenal eye move for ‘powerful’ defender to replace Jakub Kiwior if he leaves this summer

Arsenal are expecting offers for Jakub Kiwior in the summer and are already looking at a talented defender to sign in his place.

The Pole has been receiving a ton of praise for his performance against Liverpool last weekend and rightly so. He was amazing, but his long-term future at Arsenal is still in doubt.

Arsenal eye Jorrel Hato while expecting offers for Jakub Kiwior

Arsenal signed Jakub Kiwior last year from Italian side Spezia.

The Pole has never been the first choice at the Emirates, but he has played a decent amount of football this season, mainly at left-back.

However, there were a ton of rumours last month that Kiwior could be moved on, with clubs in the Serie A like AS Roma and AC Milan interested in his services.

Now, claims that Arsenal are expecting offers for Kiwior in the summer and are already looking to sign Ajax youngster Jorrel Hato.

The ‘‘ 17-year-old, like Kiwior, can play as a centre-half and at left-back, and he is viewed by many as one of the best young defenders in Europe right now.

Hato will enter the final year of his contract at Ajax this summer, and if the Dutch giants cannot get him to agree to a new deal by then, he will likely be sold.

Kiwior’s stock could rise in the next few months

Jakub Kiwior has been at Arsenal for over a year now, but we’re sure almost every Gunners supporter will agree that his performance against Liverpool was his best yet.

The Pole was fantastic in the second half after he replaced Oleksandr Zinchenko. He was solid at the back, good in duels and somehow managed to get himself in a great goalscoring position too.

Sadly for Arsenal, he missed a sitter, but the fact that he got there deserves a ton of praise.

With Zinchenko injured, Kiwior is likely to play more regularly – either from the start or off the bench. If he keeps producing performances like the one last weekend, his value will go up considerably.
