Arsenal could still sign ‘outstanding’ goalkeeper even after bringing in Joan Garcia

Arsenal appear to be making some late moves as Mikel Arteta strengthens his squad just before the deadline.

One move that looks like it’s set to be completed is Joan Garcia to Arsenal.

Arsenal are in need of a second choice goalkeeper due to Aaron Ramsdale’s imminent move to Southampton.

Interestingly, Kingsley Coman is attracting interest from Arsenal as another potential last-gasp signing, which comes after Ian Wright called for the club to sign a Bukayo Saka back-up.

Now, it appears as if there could be even further business conducted as the Gunners are still exploring another goalkeeper, with one name coming up…

Arsenal could finally land Daniel Bentley from Wolves

Wolves are set to announce Sam Johnstone as a new signing which will see them have three goalkeepers battling for two spots.

This has led to Kaya Kaynak of stating that Dan Bentley could now end up coming to Arsenal.

In his piece he states that as things stand the gap in valuation between Wolves and Arsenal is too big.

Gary O’Neil’s side are closing in a move for Sam Johnstone though which would relegate Bentley to third choice in the pecking order at Molineux. This, in turn, could create a pathway for Bentley.

Is there any need for Dan Bentley?

Both Joan Garcia and David Raya are streets ahead of Bentley, and have been playing at a higher level more consistently.

So, for Dan Bentley, this would be a move that very much sees him operate as the club’s third choice goalkeeper.

The reason the Gunners want the Englishman is because he would count as a homegrown player, which is something that every club craves in the Premier League with squad criterias to meet.

Sadly, the stumbling block has been Wolves asking for £1 million to sell Bentley, and it remains to be seen as to whether they’ll budge on that price.
