Arsenal could sign ‘incredible’ striker for way less than his release clause now
Release clauses being triggered is an increasingly popular trend in world football these days.
Erling Haaland, Dominik Szoboszlai and Enzo Fernandez have all made huge moves in recent years off the back of release clauses being triggered, and now, one of the hottest talents in Europe could move in the same way.
Indeed, Viktor Gyokeres has a highly-publicised release clause in his Sporting contract, and there has been plenty of talk about a potential move in the coming months.
Arsenal are said to be very keen on the striker, and, excitingly, the Gunners may not have to pay his release clause in order to sign him.
Indeed, according to Steve Kay, speaking on , he’s recently been told that Arsenal could in fact sign Gyokeres for less than his release clause.

Arsenal could sign Viktor Gyokeres at a discount
Kay spoke about the ‘incredible’ striker.
“Yeah, I think there’s talk that they could get him for less than the release clause. I heard that today someone I was talking to said that they could get him for a lot less than his release clause is,” Kay said.
Worth it
This is the only way that Arsenal are going to get a worthwhile deal on Gyokeres.
Yes, the Scandinavian looks to be a star, but let’s not forget, just a few months ago he was playing for Coventry City, while he didn’t make it at Brighton.
Paying €100m for a player with that sort of pedigree screams bad business to us, but if Arsenal can get him for a significant discount as Kay suggests, this could be one worth gambling on.
Whether or not Arsenal do go for Gyokeres remains to be seen, but if there’s a half decent deal on the table, the Gunners should be all over this one.
