Arsenal could sell ‘exceptional’ player for the highest fee in club history this summer
Amid Edu’s plan for a small squad overhaul, Arsenal could actually break the record for their biggest ever sale this summer.
Right now, Arsenal’s record departure was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who was sold to Liverpool back in 2017.
Chamberlain could now be returning to the Premier League, but when selling him under Arsene Wenger, Arsenal were able to fetch for the versatile attacker – who endured a mixed time at Liverpool.
In second place is Alex Iwobi’s move to Everton, who paid an initial to secure the services of the Nigerian in 2019.
Iwobi has since been sold to Fulham, where he is now thriving alongside another former Arsenal stalwart, Bernd Leno.
And to round off the top three, Folarin Balogun’s move to Monaco last summer is in third place.
Three fairly recent moves, which reflects how prices have increased in general in the last few years.
That being said, according to a report by , Arsenal could blow those fees out of the water when selling Emile Smith Rowe this summer.
Emile Smith Rowe could become highest sale in Arsenal’s history after Fulham bid
An Arsenal departure for Smith Rowe is always going to be controversial – a Hale-Ender loved by all in north London.
But having made just 19 appearances and played 475 minutes in all albeit injury affected season, the Arsenal midfielder deserves a new challenge.

Mikel Arteta clearly loves Smith Rowe’s skill set, he’s said it so often, but he doesn’t have a place for him in his eleven.
That being said, The Athletic believe that the academy graduate, who is now into the final two years of his contract, could potentially record the highest sale in the club’s history.
Fulham had a bid rejected for Smith Rowe recently, with Arsenal thought to want around £40m for the 23-year-old.
Crystal Palace are also said to be very interested via this report, meaning ‘exceptional‘ Smith Rowe could have two London based options.
But even with a move making so much sense for all parties, it won’t make it any less difficult to stomach for the club’s staff, for Smith Rowe, and for Arsenal’s fans.
‘The Croydon De Bruyne’ was once held in the same breath as Bukayo Saka at Arsenal – impossible to choose between the two.
However, injuries have played havoc with Smith Rowe’s progress, who deserves a fresh start.
