Arsenal could make bid to sign £60m player if they make a sale
Arsenal’s chances of signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana are currently being hampered by Financial Fair Play (FFP).
That’s according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who has shared an update on Arsenal’s interest in Amadou Onana.
The Gunners are yet to do any business in January, with just seven days until the window closes next Thursday.
It’s been widely reported that Arsenal are in a position where they will have to sell to buy, largely down to FFP restrictions.
Many top clubs are in the same boat this month and as transfer windows go, it’s been fairly quiet so far.
Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta’s men are still keen on Everton’s Onana as the Gunners reportedly remain in contact with the midfielder over a move to north London.
Now, Tavolieri has suggested that Arsenal could make a last-minute move for the midfielder if they make a significant sale this month.

Arsenal could yet move for Onana
Tavolieri took to on Thursday morning and shared an update on Onana’s future.
He wrote: “Financial Fair Play currently ruining the Gunners’ chances of bringing the Amadou Onana deal to a successful conclusion.
“But Wait&See, because a last-minute sale to AFC could obviously change everything…”
There has been plenty of talk about the need for Arsenal to sign a new striker. But Arteta is also lacking options in the middle of the park at the moment.
Many would argue that Arteta is yet to replace Granit Xhaka, who left for Bayer Leverkusen over the summer.

Kai Havertz has improved in recent weeks but he doesn’t quite provide the same type of profile as Xhaka did in that left-sided midfield role.
Onana has impressed for the Toffees this term and is attracting admiring glances from a host of top clubs.
Of course, Arsenal hold a long-standing interest in the player but Everton are reportedly set to demand around £60 million for the midfielder.
The Gunners have plenty of players who could fetch a decent price, especially the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.
But with other clubs also facing similar financial struggles, it’s difficult see anyone match Arsenal’s demands.
