Arsenal could end up spending £57m to sign ‘unstoppable’ player in January – journalist
Arsenal are now just days away from returning to action and attempting to protect their lead at the top of the Premier League.
It will be a real test to see if Mikel Arteta’s side can pick up where they left off before the World Cup.
The Gunners face West Ham on Boxing Day, and that will give Arteta an indication of how this side will fare with Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian has established himself as one of Arsenal’s most important players since joining from Manchester City.
However, he’s now set to spend several months on the side lines after having knee surgery.

The January transfer window gives Arsenal an opportunity to bring in a replacement.
One player who has been linked for some time now is Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The Ukrainian is certainly admired in north London, and Arsenal could sign Mudryk in the next few weeks.
Jacobs has now spoken about how much a potential deal could cost Arsenal.
Given Shakhtar initially set their asking price at £85m, but negotiations are likely to see that figure fall.
Arsenal could sign Mudryk in January
: “They’ve never had a history of paying above the odds and they’ve never had a history of panic buying, so it’s now about whether they can agree a fee with Shakhtar.
“Sources are saying privately that fee will be €60-65million [£52m-£57m] if Arsenal get their way at the top end.
“Arsenal’s starting point will be even lower than that as well and the way forward, as ever with these kinds of deals, will be around the structure.
“Arsenal are definitely not going to put down anywhere close to €100million [£87m], but what they might do is put down €50-60million [£43m-£52m] with some gettable add-ons and even potentially a sell-on percentage to Shakhtar should they eventually let him go elsewhere.”

If Arsenal could sign the ‘unstoppable’ Mudryk for £57m in January, it would be a much easier sum to justify.
He’s been in exceptional form this season, scoring seven times and assisting a further six goals in league football.
Shakhtar have confirmed Arsenal are interested in him, and the player is keen on the move too.
Mudryk could slot straight into Arsenal’s starting line-up if Arteta decides to shift Gabriel Martinelli into a more central role.
The Arsenal manager will want any deal concluded quickly so he can add the forward to his squad during the busiest period of the season.
